Overview

Aviation Summer Camp is a hands-on exploration of the science and excitement of flight for high school students. 

Over five days, participants will work alongside pilots, engineers, and aviation professionals through behind-the-scenes tours, real-world challenges, and STEM-focused projects. From learning pre-flight basics at Appleton International Airport to touring Gulfstream facilities and testing skills in flight simulators, this camp offers an immersive introduction to aviation and aerospace careers.

Experiences: Applicants choose their top two program options. Aviation (Daytime) may be paired with one Residential experience, as it runs the week after Residential programs.

Day 1: Welcome & EAA Experience

Camp kickoff, STEM stations with EAA expert pilots and engineers, hands-on challenges, pre-flight basics including flight charting, weather, and fueling.

Day 2: Gulfstream Tour

Gulfstream Facilities

Facility tour, group design challenge, team presentations.

Day 3: Technical College & Flight Simulation

Fox Valley Technical College & Fox Valley Lutheran High School

Technical college facility tour, flight charting challenge, flight simulator challenge.

Day 4: Campus Learning & Guest Speaker

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ

STEM-focused learning sessions, campus tour, hands-on project work, guest speaker presentation.

Day 5: Final Projects & Showcase

Fox Valley Lutheran High School & LU & TBD

Final project work, team presentations, evening family showcase celebrating camper achievements.

*Currently, this schedule is tentative and is subject to change. The EAA Chapter 41 offers Young Eagles Discovery flights, weather permitting. These flights are optional, and do not occur during Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ Aviation program hours, and are an event coordinated and hosted by the EAA Chapter 41. Shortly after registration parents and guardians will receive additional program details.
