Admissions
During my college search, I knew I wanted a strong music program within a liberal arts college and was eager to become a Lawrentian. I was blown away by the music-making I saw at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ and the supportive, empowering environment. I felt inspired and challenged in the best ways! Now, as an alumna, I am thrilled to be supporting future Lawrentians in their college search and would be happy to connect to talk more about your individual path. Outside of admissions, I enjoy being an active violinist in the Fox Valley area, walking by the Fox River, crafting, and curling up with a good book during the winter.
Where’s your favorite place to eat in Appleton?
It’s hard to choose a favorite place to eat in Appleton! My go-to spots are Bowl 91, Mai’s Deli, and Josef’s Gyros. Growing up in a larger urban area, the Twin Cities in Minnesota, I wasn’t sure what to expect from life in Appleton or if it would feel too small - but it’s been the complete opposite! There’s so much to do within walking distance of campus, and I love the access to nature - beautiful city parks and trails along the Fox River, High Cliff State Park just 15 minutes away, and Lake Michigan less than an hour’s drive.
What’s your favorite spot on the Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓƵ campus?
One of my favorite spots on campus is affectionately known by students as the "Con Couches" - a lounge area in the lower level of our conservatory building. This is a popular casual gathering space for students, especially those who are participating in music classes or ensembles. On any given day you'll find people studying, chatting, or catching a quick nap. There are also organized events that happen here, such as drop-in music theory tutoring, craft activities, free chair massages, and more. I love walking by right before an ensemble rehearsal or concert and feeling the buzz of excitement!
