Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ is a community of diverse, passionate, intellectually curious, and driven people that desire to come together so that we can grow together.

Student Life Events 

With the sole purpose of getting students involved, student life events are critical to forming a campus community. In addition to various  (Student Organization for University Programming) events, including crafting and engaging with guest entertainers, many beloved Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ

Residence Hall Activities 

Community Advisors (CAs) work full-time to create outlets for students to bond with their neighbors with activities like game nights, trips to the Appleton Farmers Market, tote bag decorating sessions, and much more.  Be on the lookout for invites from your CA throughout the year!

Student Organizations

With dozens and dozens of student organizations to choose from, each dedicated to a specific interest and activity, it’s easy to find the club that’s right for you. 

From sea shanties to swing dancing, find your niche using the directory or hear from group leaders directly at the annual involvement fair.

Professional student organizations help students prepare for their post-graduation careers and bond with others on a similar path. Aspiring doctors, lawyers, writers, bakers—and the list goes on—become a member today!

Student Orgs

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ has a variety of student-led organizations, embedded in every facet of the campus community. These groups empower student voices, celebrate culture and identity, and provide a launchpad for exploration.

The Lawrentian 

If you want to get your voice out there, try your hand at cross-campus communications with the campus paper. As the official student newspaper of Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ,  is a hub for student news, opinions, photography, and more. 

Volunteer

Volunteering offers the chance to connect with classmates, get to know the local community, and give back all at the same time. With six distinct service areas, each with a variety of programs, you’re sure to find your perfect volunteering niche.

Student Jobs

Student employment is a key outlet for getting involved with the campus community. There’s no shortage of jobs to choose from. Some of the most popular include food service in the Commons, the circulation desk in the Seeley G. Mudd library, or writing for the Communications office. 

Student Government

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ Community Council (LUCC) facilitates real change on campus. Through the combined work of elected class representatives and appointed committee members, LUCC touches all aspects of university life. From finance to student welfare, LUCC is a vital part of Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµâ€™s shared governance.

Sports

Playing a sport builds bonds across campus, regardless of your academic and professional interests. Be part of a laid-back recreational team!

Wellness Activities 

It’s easy to associate wellness services with treadmills and counseling—and the Wellness Center does offer plenty of exercise equipment, mental health services, and healthcare professionals—but participation in wellness activities can also be a great way to get involved! In addition to programs and initiatives geared toward a particular aspect of health and wellness, Wellness Services also hosts weekly group activities including yoga, meditation, and volleyball games.

Trips & Study Abroad 

There’s nothing like a change of scenery to get to know your fellow Lawrentians in a new light. Day trips to High Cliff State Park, weekend excursions to , or international travel for an academic course—all these trips can help you get involved with your studies and classmates in a more hands-on, distinctive setting.

Diversity, Inclusion & Cultural Resources

Our unique backgrounds and identities are key to shaping who we are as people and deserve to be nurtured in the university setting. Through resources in the Diversity and Intercultural Center, , and the recently established , students can connect with classmates and staff who understand their experiences and can offer additional support. Likewise, the  connects interested students with options for exploring faith and spirituality.

Group Housing Based on Interests

Have a specific interest or passion? Immerse yourself in it while connecting with other students who feel the same way by living in one of Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµâ€™s group houses.  

Art house is a staple on the quad, SLUG house emphasizes sustainable living and eating, and Sankofa provides a shared space for students of marginalized identities. Fraternity & Sorority Life

You can choose from eight fraternity and sorority organizations: three Interfraternity Council fraternities, three Panhellenic sororities, one local sorority, and one professional music sorority.

Our campus follows a continuous recruitment model rather than a formal recruitment period, giving you the flexibility to explore membership and join a chapter when you feel ready.

Downtown Appleton

Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ students are an essential part of the wider Appleton community. With a vibrant art, music, and food scene, Appleton regularly presents a vast array of events that allow students to get involved with the rest of the town.
