Gender Studies

If Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ is your first choice, apply by Nov. 1 to receive your admission decision by Dec. 1. Early Decision applicants also receive financial aid offers and select housing early, making senior year feel more settled.

Program Overview

Gender Studies at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ transforms how you see yourself and the world around you. Gender Studies courses facilitate inquiry into how power shapes everything from interpersonal relations to global economic structures. This inquiry occurs along the intersections of gender, race, class, sexuality, nationality, ability, religion, and age. Our courses will prepare you to engage in critical thinking, in-depth discussion, community engagement, and research. The interdisciplinary approach to gender studies at Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ÊÓÆµ will help you cultivate agility to address social challenges in an ever-changing job market and political arena.


Program Highlights

Examine questions of gender and identity through perspectives from art history, biology, ethnic studies, psychology, and other fields.

Gain hands-on experience through internships, field research, and community-engaged learning.

Build the research, analytical, and communication skills that support success in graduate and professional programs.


Types of Degrees

Students can pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies, with many students opting to double major in fields such as Anthropology, Data Science, Film Studies, and Psychology. A minor in Gender Studies is also available.
